ZUMBA® GOLD-TONING
WHAT IS ZUMBA GOLD-TONING?
The Zumba® Gold-Toning program takes the basic Zumba Gold® dance-fitness party and adds in lightweight Zumba® Toning Sticks to enhance muscle strength, tone and endurance. Resistance training is essential to prevent a dramatic reduction in muscle mass and muscle strength.
The choreography and moves are based on combinations of rhythms such as merengue, salsa, cumbia, tango, belly dance, reggaeton and flamenco.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "ZUMBA GOLD" AND “ZUMBA GOLD TONING”?
In a nut shell, the main difference is the addition of resistance training exercises within the choreography by using toning sticks. Similar to Zumba Toning, Zumba Gold-Toning is a 'dance 'n' tone' programme. It doesn't solely focus on an aerobic workout (which you know and expect from a regular Zumba Gold class), includes a weight resistance training too which creates a higher calorie burn than resistance training alone. In addition, it offers some cardiovascular exercise, and because it is still Zumba, it’s FUN!
IS ZUMBA GOLD-TONING SUITABLE FOR EVERYBODY?
Any active healthy individual without a known history of cardio-respiratory conditions, high blood pressure or joint injury may safely participate in the Zumba Gold-Toning weights programme.
WHAT WEIGHTS SHOULD I USE?
Light handheld weights (1 lb to 3 lb) or Zumba Toning Sticks (1 lb and 2.5 lb) provide light resistance when used with the Zumba Gold® rhythms.
WILL WEIGHTS BE PROVIDED?
No, you need to bring your own.

I no longer run a separate Gold-Toning class but include a Zumba Gold-Toning track in my Zumba Gold classes.
