FAQ / TERMS AND CONDITIONS

How much do the classes cost?

Class prices vary. Please visit the relevant page on this website or " Class Schedule " to view prices.

All sessions are pay-as-you go – no membership is required.

Do I have to book or pay in advance in order to attend classes?

You do not have to book a place to attend a class, however if a class reaches full capacity a ‘CLASS FULL’ sign will be displayed on the door and no further entry will be permitted. Entry in this case will be on a ‘first come, first served’ basis, so the earlier you arrive for a class, the better.

What do I wear / bring with me?

Zumba classes do have a party atmosphere however high-heels, flip flops or clubbing gear are not acceptable!!! Please wear comfortable, loose clothing – preferably appropriate gym-wear and trainers/dance shoes. It’s important that your shoes offer stability and cushion your feet and don’t restrict your movements, so if possible try to avoid wearing shoes made specifically for running.

Please bring a bottle of water with you so that you do not become de-hydrated.

Do I have to be fit to attend Zumba?

Zumba is suitable for healthy individuals from beginner to advanced levels of fitness. If you haven’t exercised for a while, then by all means, take breaks when you need to, and as you get fitter you’ll be able to do more. If you have any serious health problems or concerns please seek medical advice and ensure you get clearance from your doctor before attending a fitness class.

Is there an age limit to attend Zumba?

You’re never too old to Zumba! Unfortunately, it is not suitable for children under the age of 14. Teenagers aged 14 -16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

I can’t dance - will I still be able to do Zumba?

Absolutely! As long as you’re moving, you’re burning calories! There is no right or wrong in Zumba so it’s suitable for dancers and non-dancers alike. You will be able to learn new dance steps in an easy-to-follow, non-intimidating, fun and party-like atmosphere.

Will Zumba help me to lose weight?

The Zumba workout is based on interval training. This means that we use fast rhythms to fire up your metabolic rate and slow rhythms to rest. This type of training is a proven to be one of the most effective methods of burning lots of calories during and after exercising. Participants wearing pedometers and heart rate monitors during a class have found that they take more than 7000 steps and burn anything between 400-800 calories during a Zumba class.

I have a serious back problem / I am pregnant/i have recently had a baby / I have a serious health problem so is it okay for me to attend Zumba?

If you have ANY serious medical issues it is important that you get clearance from a health professional before you attend an exercise class.
